Hi,
I am looking to send out e-mail notification using smtp without the need for a username and password for authentication with the smtp server.
I cannot see how to normal way of sending out smtp e-mail is possible in Orchestrator.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? When running the mail configure workflow, it is unable to proceed without a username og password.
Best Regards
Brian Knutsson
Hi Brian,
The problem with username/password being always mandatory is fixed in vRO 7.1.0 release.
If you are using an older vRO 7.x and cannot upgrade to 7.1, one possible option is to get Mail plug-in's DAR file from 7.1 installation and install it into your existing 7.x installation.
I will try that. Thanks. Do you know if the dar files can be downloaded somewhere, or do I need to do a 7.1 install, and then extract the dar file?
I don't think standard plug-ins are available as a separate download.
The recommended way is to deploy a 7.1 appliance and extract Mail plug-in's DAR file. If you want, I can send the DAR file, but deploying your own appliance could be faster/easier.
Hi Ilian, I wanted to confirm if plugin needs to be configured from the workflow? I am on 7.1.0.4262825, workflow version that came with this one is 0.0.4 (ID 841b32dd-4a39-49c8-8164-b1a88fe403d3) and mine still has credentials input set as mandatory. I suppose I can try making a copy and turn that property off.
The fixed workflow should have a version 0.0.5; let me check why you still have 0.0.4.
Is your vRO a clean install or an upgrade from older vRO version?
Just confirmed with the admin, it's a clean install from ovf (it's an appliance).
Ok, perhaps different builds 4262825 vs 4276164. Thanks for the workflow I'll give it a shot.
Actually, 4262825 and 4276164 represent the same vRO 7.1.0 GA build; the former is vRO 7.1.0 platform build number and the latter is vRO 7.1.0 appliance build number (appliance combines platform + a few other components like JRE, etc.).
