Radio button "Bridged".  Then click the "Configure Adapters" button.  Then specify which NIC to bridge VMnet0 to.

Does your host have more than one physical network adapter?  If so, try disabling "Automatic Bridge", and use the Configure Adapters button to specify which adapter to link to VMnet0.

"Bridged" doesn't work when the (only) network adapter in the host OS (which works fine in that) is absent from VMWare, and in it's absence, there is nothing displayed and the OK button is greyed out!

In my case, it worked fine until VMWare player 12 prompted me to upgrade (to 12.5.1-4542065 from 12.5.0-4352439, which not only failed to install (and claimed falsely to be rolling back) but killed networking.

I've tried downgrading (which necessitated complete manual removal of all previous versions including some individual files) as far as v5, without luck, and tried every major version possible since then, including the one which failed (and also failed to roll back), returning to the "clean" each time, with no version at all installed, and rebooting before the next try.

I'm now on v7.1.4-3848939, which does at least install, but still doesn't give me any network

I suppose I could try setting up a NAT implementation, but that would be a NAT within my current NAT, which isn't the best of testing environments - and would it (could it?) work anyway with no apparent connection to the physical card (no, I just tried) Nor will manually configuring a MAC address which I know to be the one used in the same VMs former (working) state, and the custom network set to use that and the actual address range used by my normal network.
