Is there any way to do a system-wide keyword-search for all snapshots of all VMs?

Hi everyone,

to me it seems that you can only find keywords you allocated to a snapshot when this snapshot is "active" - meaning it is marked as "you are here" in the snapshot manager.

Is there any way to do a system-wide keyword-search for all snapshots of all VMs?

Thanks a lot for any help!

Hi firestartah,

thanks for this link but this is about finding VMs which have a snapshot in general.

My question deals with finding a specific snapshot by searching for a keyword that is allocated to this specific snapshot.

It seems the library-search-function only works for snapshots that are active ("You are here").

Actually the article Gregg points you to is for vSphere/ESXi.

There is no such API for finding all snapshots in VMware Workstation.

You could read all vmsd files and use grep for keywords
