Access Point 2.5 - HTML5 not working

Hi there,

Been trying the new Access Point 2.5 with both Horizon 6.2 and Horizon 7, and am not able to use the HTML5 Web client.

The error is "Failed to connect to the Connection Server." after entering my credentials. Server sends a code 500, "Internal Server Error".

I deployed it using the "VMware Access Point Deployment Utility" fling.

Downgrading to 2.0 makes everything work for Horizon 6.2, but does not work for Horizon 7 (unsupported).

Did anyone had the same issue? If Access Point 2.5 is working for you, can you share how you deployed it?

Thanks

I get this only in Google Chrome.  Also, I get this going direct to my View 7 servers with the Access Point removed.  Only Google Chrome is broken.

Actually I can replicate this on all the browsers, Edge, Chrome and Firefox, after cleaning history / cache.

But if I have a session saved with 2.0, I can reuse it and login to 2.5.

I am having the same issue with AP 2.5 and Horizon 7.0.

IE, Firefox, Blast protocol thru view Client work fine.

Chrome gives this error every time.

Any ideas?

I think this fixed my problem.  If it doesn't resolve it for you let me know and I have an alternative fix I did around the same time.

VMware KB: Accessing the Horizon View Administrator page displays a blank error window in Horizon 7

Here is the solution.  Need to edit the locked.properties file to allow the access point.  Hard to find in the documentation, but it's there.

Just in case anyone hits this thread via an internet search, I had the same issue with a traditional Security Gateway in Horizon View 7, and that KB above fixed it.  Also, we had to enable TLS 1.1 and 1.2 in Internet Explorer's Internet Options > Advanced > Security settings in order to hit View Admin and the Client Install/Blast page.

  • A "Failed to connect to the Connection Server" error occurs when you use HTML Access to connect to a non-EN language Connection Server instance with Access Point 2.5.x integration.
    Workaround: None.

Having the same issue. With the Windows, Mac and iOS client I'm able to login. Just with the HTML client I cannot login, tried all browsers.

Already added checkOrigin=false to the locked.properties.

Any other suggestions?

Hello, I am having the same problem.

I use AP 2.7.2 and 2.8 versions in different pods and Horizon 7.0.3

HTML client works only in Safari browser!!!

All clients (android, windows, mac os) work correctly.

Direct connections over connection servers work correctly in all browsers.

I really can't understand why HTML client works only in Safari in my environment(

Pelomannen What does your edited locked.properties from Connection Server look like now?

After you changed it, did you also restart Connection Server service?

When you use the Blast protocol from native Horizon Clients (not a browser) does that work?

Does this behaviour work for some browsers and not others?

There are several possible misconfigurations that affect HTML Access/Blast. Answers to these questions should allow us to help you resolve this.

>>what does your edited locked.properties file look like now.

Also, in the debug logs on Connection Server do you see any log entries containing "origin" ?

When you say it "doesn't work", what does the browser user actually see?

The locked.properties only contains checkOrigin=false. No, I do not have "origin" in the log.

However it's working now after I reinstalled Horizon CS (third time). What I did was uninstall Horizon CS, reboot, install CS and reboot again.

Thanks,

Great - glad this is resolved and was not an Access Point issue. Sounds like the Connection Server config was not correct but resolved after the reinstall.
