Hi,
I am attempting to install ESXi 6 U2 on a new server. The hardware is as follows:
SuperMicro motherboard X11SSH-LN4F (BIOS 1.0a, 12/29/2015)
32GB DDR4 RAM (2 x 16GB)
AVAGO MegaRAID SAS 9361-4i (Firmware 6.31.03.0, 1/25/2016)
4 x 2TB disk drives in RAID5
When running the ESXi install from CD, the following error occurs after only a short way through:
IMG_20160425_112039.jpg - Google Drive
Error loading /s.v00
Compressed MD5: 206f......
Decompressed MD5: 0000......
Fatal error: 10 (Out of resources)
I'm trying to find how I can troubleshoot this error. I have tried three different media to install from, including 5.5 U3b, all with the same error. I would appreciate any help on the next steps.
Many thanks and regards,
Alex
Hi Alex,
Just came across this error myself using the exact same motherboard.
I managed to successfully install ESXi 6.0 release 3380124 last week, with no issues. I have just tried to upgrade to U2 and came across this error. I tried the upgrade via IPMI using the virtual ISO method and thought it may be something to do with that, but it seems not.
If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise I may just stick with the current build I have running, for now.
Thanks in advance.
Karl
Hi Alex,
Just trying to installed ESXi 6 U2 on a Lenovo P70 Xeon Laptop and I have faced the same issue. I have only tried booting from a USB drive. The Error I get is very similar and happens at the /tools.t00 stage. Is this the same for you guys? Or does it occur at another part of the installation.?
Lenovo P70
Xeon 2.8GHz Proccessor
64GB RAM
512GB NVMe PCI Drive
Thanks
Hari
What is the server model?
