VMware and Oracle Database

Is this possible to virtualize a physical server with an oracle database?

If yes, what are the considerations needed to virtualize the database? are there oracle database versions needed to be checked?

Do we have any best practice white papers for running Oracle database in VMware?

Thanks!

Can't see the last two links since I don't have any account for Oracle.

Can someone share a link where I can see the files directly.

Thanks!

Hello,

the cracking point here is the licensing.

Do you have only one ESX host then you must only license the host's cpus.

Do you have a VC server mit many Esx hosts then you have to buy licenses for all the cpus from all hosts there - that could be expansive.

The first link give you the guideline how to configure it.
