Dekstopo pool vCenter linked clone size after vm deletion

Hi,

i have automated desktop pool vCenter linked clone. There was 4 vms. After deleting 2 of them and making changes in provisioning tab, desktop pool sizing and setting to two the space in datastore did not increased. What i am missing here?

those are linked clone desktop created from the snapshot of the parent VM. The total size of the linked clone desktops will be on ~ 100 MB - 500 MB. That is the reason you are seeing the difference on the datastore..

I have a pool of linked clones, each vm is 60GB. They are Windows 10. After deleting two desktops, the space have not increased.

As the other poster mentioned the linked clones are based off a replica machine that is made from your parent snapshot.  They start off very small at the datastore level and will grow over time.    Even though the Windows OS may say it's a 60GB drive its still, in most scenarios, only taking up a small portion of that on the vSphere datastore.   This would explain why you didn't see a 120 GB size increase upon removal of these machiens.

Ok, so basically it's like a snapshot? If i create 10mb file and then delete it and then create another 10mb, than it will consume 20mb of space? That's how snapshoting works.
