I'm running Fusion 8.1.1 on OS X 10.10.5 with an Ubuntu 16.04 VM. My primary email client is Mail in OS X, but I'd like to configure it so that http/https URLs in emails are opened in my default browser in the Linux VM (which happens to be Firefox, if that makes a difference). I am using the open-vm-tools packages in Linux instead of the "official" VMWare Tools as suggested by the VMWare Tools installer. Everything is working fine - I can adjust the resolution to my Retina display, file sharing and copy/paste works fine, network connection works great, etc. I know that you can configure the Default Applications settings when using a Windows VM to open URLs in your Windows browser, for example, but so far I haven't been able to find anything about setting this up with Linux. Can anyone help shed some light on this?
