Adding the ability to mount an iso file to a VM in VRA 7.01

Hi, i'm working with vRealize automation 7.01,

i was wondering if there is a simple way to allow the ability to  mount an iso to a virtual machine

the custom properties pdf of 7.01 only  refer to mounting an iso automatically from a specific share, i'm interested in the ability to freely mount

an iso from any share, just like the standard VMRC option when the cdrom drive is set to client device.

thanks

I did this by providing a VMRC link that users can use to open up a console session using the stand alone VMRC application. This gives them the ability to mount an ISO from their machine.

Thanks for the quick response, i will elaborate my question

i have the ability to provide the clients with VMRC,  in VRA 7.01 there is even an aciton for this

the problem is that even with VMRC , i don't  have the option to mount an ISO

it seems like there is a permission problem

The built in action uses the web VMRC. The package i provided uses the stand alone installed VMRC. That package includes the capabilities to mount local ISOs to the VM.

We originally went down the road of having a shared NFS datastore for ISOs and presenting a dropdown list of the available ISOs and mount the selected on but it was a real PITA. So we ended up using the VMRC for that.
