vcenter 6 appliance - failed to configure network

I installed VCSA and it has the network information configured butr getting message Failed to configure network. I can ping the IP address. I can ping other IPs from the VCSA console. I cannot open the web client. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

I saw the "Failed to configure network" error when I tested installing the appliance without DNS in place. Can you confirm that a DNS Host-A entry - including PTR (Reverse DNS) - has been created prior to deploying the appliance?

I am just to get this to work in vCD. So, DNS records are created inside the vAPP but not when deploying it out side vCD and importing the appliance in.

Hi there,

I also experienced the "failed to configure network" error message on the console of the VCSA. I was able to get an error-free deployment by NOT specifying an NTP server but insead choosing "synchronize with the ESXi host" in the deployment wizard. That way the deployment went just fine and the the VCSA console showed no error upon first boot. You can then change the NTP settings by connecting to https://<your-VCSA-IP-or-Hostname>:5480

Hope that helps...

Didier
