Relationship between vCenter objects and HP adapter objects

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for a pack management of vROPs that can provide the visibility of relations between vcenter and hp oneview adapter. I want to display for example which cluster or vm is in which hp enclosure.

Thank you in advance. I'll really apreciate your help.

It look like your question is about relationship mapping within vROps of the HP Server layer and the VMware ESX layers.

If that what you are looking for, Blue Medora's vROps MP for HP Servers provides out-of-the-box relationship mapping.

See attached screenshot for an example.

Greetings!

There are two options for bringing in HP server metrics and marrying them to vSphere resources.

1) HP OneView for VMware vCenter Operations Manager - My understanding is this requires OneView Enterprise, and it looks like it is not certified for vRealize Operations, but rather was built for vCenter Operations 5.8.x.  This makes me question compatibility with vROps.  More information can be found here: Cloud Management Marketplace | Solution Exchange

2) Blue Medora has a vRealize Operations Management Pack for HP Servers, which connects directly to the REST API on your HP ILOs.  It can be found here: vROps Management Pack for HP Servers - Blue Medora

These relationships have been available as long as I can remember with the HPE OneView Adapter, but I'm currently running vROps 7.5 and HPE OneView Adapter 2.3.021. Blue Medora is not necessary for the relationships. This should "just work" if you're running Synergy blades, the HPE customized ESXi image and name the server profile the same as your ESXi hostname. For rack mount, you have to install the VIBs.

Here are Blue Medora's pre-reqs for seeing the relationships, which I believe are the same for the OneView Adapter, but I'm not positive--haven't tested any rack mounts.

You can see relationships with several widgets. "Object Relationship (Advanced)" is pretty nice as you can set the depth of Parents and Children and explore. The non-Advanced version doesn't have that feature and only shows 1 Parent and 1 Child.
