Support for S.M.A.R.T. daemon?

Running the opensource Hyperic 3.0.5. agent/server. Looking to monitor and alert off of smartd. Is this a supported daemon for hyperic?. It is running on my client machine and smartd does report back active checks. I've restarted that smart daemon as well and it doesn't report/populate into the Hyperic server.

Thanks for any help,

Ray

We don't currently support SMART, but would like to, provided there
is a standard that emerges from the software side of things. Which
daemon are you using?

I'm running the standard smartd along with smartctl version 5.33. I think that I can hack a nagios check_log script to return a 0 or 1 and use that as script service within Hyperic.

Thanks for the reply.

Kind of a long shot, but can you post how you got smartctl to work with hyperic? Just starting to look into it and wanted to see how you got it to work?
