VCP5-DCV to VCAP6 Upgrade path

Hi Guys,

I was having a look about but couldn't see a clear certification path. Am I able to go from VCP5-DCV (on 5.5) to VCAP6-DCV or VCAP-DCD, or would I have to go VCP6 then up?

You can either go up then across, or across then up.

Here's an example from your current VCP5-DCV to the VCAP6-DCV Deployment

Path 1 - up then across

Pass the VCDA550 exam - earns you VCAP5-DCA

Pass the 3V0-623 exam - earns you VCAP6-DCV Deployment

Path 2 - across then up

Pass the 2V0-621D exam - earns you VCP6-DCV

Pass the 3V0-623 exam - earns you VCAP6-DCV Deployment

Interesting as i've been told I can't automatically get my VCP6-CMA if I pass the VCAP6-CMA exams and HAVE TO sit the VCP6-CMA even if I have the VCP5-Cloud and it is still active.

There's no mention of VCP5-Cloud here: VMware Certified Advanced Professional 6 - Cloud Management and Automation Deployment

Which ties in with what you've been told Gregg, but is different to the options for DCV.

Path 1

VCP5-DCV --> VCP6-DCV --> VCAP6-DCV

Path2

VCP5-DCV --> VCAP5-DCV --> VCAP6-DCV

NOTE :

you can:

            If you have done vcap5 on implementation then you can upgrade to vcap6 on implementation;

            If you have done vcap5 on design then you can upgrade to vcap6 on design.

you cant:

            If you have done vcap5 on implementation then you cant upgrade to vcap6 on design;

            If you have done vcap5 on design then you cant upgrade to vcap6 on implementation.
