vcenter cluster

there are 5 esxi hosts in a cluster ( hp proliant dl380 g8 2x12 cpu Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2695 v2 @ 2.40GHz ) now i want to add one host in this cluster . is it possible ?


this host configuration is : hp proliant dl380 g8 2x10 cpu Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2670 v2 @ 2.50GHz .

Hi,

you can add your host to the existing cluster, but you have to enable EVC for vMotion capabilities between different  processor technologies:

Yes, the only difference is clock speed and number of cores of those two CPUs. A best practice is to have the exact same hardware. However, that's not always possible and we allow for that flexibility. Just note that there are some implications with having dissimilar hardware.
