Pearson Vue no longer offer VCAP5-DCA reservation

    I failed my VCAP5 on Nov 2nd, since the exam is very broad, so it is critical to take it again sooner than later (I can't remember all the stuff for long), but when I make appointment for the exam, it is extremely frustrating that their website always have the dreadful error code :" Alert! This application has encountered an unexpected problem. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please close your browser and start over."

    I called CSR, their heavy accent makes it difficult to communicate (all of them have heavy accents), they insist that I used the wrong account and asked me to use my Professional account, which I did, they told me they could not see VDCA550, yet I can see it when I login in, then they contact Helpdesk support, telling me two accounts are being merged, I told them they said the same thing back in October, and they promised everything would be merged by Oct 19, obviously that never happened. I was on the phone for 2h (back in May and Oct, when I made reservation for VCP and VCAP, I also waited for hours and hours, only to be told to wait for another 7-10 days), by now, I lost my temper and started cursing, then they came back and said they found VDCA550 in my professional account, I waited for another 45 min by being transferred to different people, finally, they came back and said the VDCA550 expired and no longer offered by VMware, I disputed that, and wait for another 30 min, someone else (who speak proper English), told me I can't make appointment now, and have to check back next month, I cursed and hanged up the phone. As anyone else who made reservation in the past, it is extremely dreadful to deal with Pearson Vue.

    For these who never took VCAP5 exam, I must tell you the setup is extremely sluggish and prone to disconnection, people complained to VMware for years, what did VMware do? absolutely nothing, that is typical of VMware (You complain about something, we will push that to your throat). I must say I would be highly motivated to become proficient in kvm and RHEV, hopefully eventually get rid off all VMware stuff one day, I just don't see them to play nice with their paid customer.

I am very sorry to hear your frustrations surrounding the VCAP5-DCA exam. I have forwarded your concerns to our Pearson VUE account representative.. Can you please provide me some of your details so they can locate you in their system to see who you spoke with?

I can assure you that the VCAP5-DCA exam (VDCA550) is not expiring anytime soon. This was a misunderstanding on the Pearson VUE side and they were mistakenly informing candidates that the exams were retired. This is being corrected on their side to ensure that this information is not being relayed to the candidates anymore.

We recently made an update that combined the 2 accounts at Pearson VUE so you only need to log in to the regular account to schedule all exams (we no longer have the VMware Advanced login). This streamlined the process so that candidates no longer be required to click on a separate link to register for an Advanced Exam.

I having same issue. Booked exam 2 months ago and couldn't find details of my appointment in regular account after account merge. Called test center and was redirected to call center, the voice over the phone was very very low and hardly to hear. Had to ask the call center staff repeat the question again and again. Eventually, online support confirmed appointment. Have to say PearsonVUE system is the worst online booking system I've ever used.

Yesterday, I sat the exam and couldn't get passed due my stupid time management. The exam wasn't hard as I thought before and I want to retake the exam ASAP. Tried more than 10 times today and keep getting the same error message as yours. I will call PearsonVUE tomorrow or maybe just send a message to vmware certification team instead.

‌hello,

i facaed the same issue , i booked my exam for 25th november and due to some emergency wanted to pospone the exam and when i logged in with my pearsonvue credentails and then to myvmware credentials , I couldn't see any exams under my upcoming appointments.

So i called the customer care and they said i can no longer reschedule the exam as its not supported by vmware but that is not true.

i Tried to explain them the whole scenario but , nothing worked and i really didn't wanted to get into an argument .

so out of furstratiom i cancelled my exam and after 6 months of rigorous preprarion , i'm in middle of no where.

i Got the money back but then since the USD transaction ( its not my native ) currency , fees and all were deducted .

no i'm really not sure what to do , @vmware education team , how can this be addressed ?

Good afternoon all.

I'm having troubles finding any available dates/slots for the VDCA550 between now and up until March 2017.. There are several Pearson VUE testing centers in Melbourne that I know, unfortunately they don't show up in the tool when check dates for the VCAP DCA 5.5 and this is the message i get

"There are no appointment dates available for the currently selected test center and date range. Please select a different test center or date range."

Wondering if someone in this forum can point me in the right direction. This to me looks like a fault in the booking system, there must be at-least one slot free between now and March 2017 to take this exam. The tools shows me available dates in other states of Australia, however not in Melbourne..

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

Please be informed that there are only few authorized center for the advanced exams in Melbourne, hence there is no slots available for the same till March.

As the email from certification says all the slots within Melbourne are full. There is a current VCAP6-DCD,VCAP6-CMA betas happening at present and so I think all slots have possibly been filled by these also happenign for the next month and a half.

   already got my VCAP5-DCA and VCP6-DTM, wonder when VCAP5-DCD would be pulled away from us?
