W7 host with W10 Guest - HANG

I have seen several hangs in both my guest and host.  I initially thought it was VMware Tools related but have now concluded it is not - at least I am running the latest Tools (10.0.5, build 3228253).

My latest hang:  With W10 x64 (build 1511) running on VM playing music using Firefox, I opened a folder on my host, right clicked a command (.cmd) file and clicked "Run as administrator".  The host hung with "Windows Explorer is not responding".  Replying "Close application" did nothing.  I could not open the Task Manager on the host even using Ctrl-Alt-Del.  Knowing this had been VM associated before, I selected the guest and used W10 Start to do a Shut Down.  The guest then hung and trying to use the VM menu to Shut down or power off the guest had no effect.  Ultimately I had to manually reset my host.  I hope someone can help.  Thanks and enjoy, John.

This is starting to look really scary.  BTW, I am running the free (non-commercial) version of VMware WS-Player.  I appear to have evidence that VMware is getting confused between my host and guest.  I had a similar hang yesterday that I outlined in my first post.  This time the W10 VM was sitting at the Welcome screen when I started a .cmd file on my host.  I saw nothing happen on my host (Windows explorer hung).  When I went to the guest and completed logging on, there was an open (but blank) command prompt.  On my host I had an open NP++ window so I went to close it and found many tabs open to files that are on my guest not host.  After I closed all of these, I found the several files that were and should have been open on my host.  I had to manually reset my HW.  I suspect something really bad is going on but have no idea how to get a handle on it.  I hope someone will try to duplicate this condition or at lease help me to narrow it down.  Is it possible to go back to the last version of Player?  If so, how long will it be available?  Thanks and enjoy, John.
