Cloud Pods and Persona Mgmt Profiles

Hey,

Hypothetical design question:

- 2 datacenters in different continents, 70ms RTT, 1Gb Bandwidth, MPLS.

- A view pod in each datacenter, linked using Cloud Pod Architecture and F5 GTM

- Floating desktop pools in each datacenter

I'd like an active-active design with policies to set a preferred datacenter for each user based on geography and lowest latency.  If the pod was unavailable, or if there was an unplanned outage, then redirect the user over to the surviving datacenter.

I know all this should be possible, but what about retaining the user's profile?  Assuming the persona management profiles are stored on a CIFS share local to each view pod, what would be a supported way of keeping them in sync between datacenters?  It ideally would need to be active/active and r/w on both sides.

Maybe DFS-R ?  Although I think there are support concerns around using this for user profiles.

Something like Snapmirror would be ideal, it's array based and block level, but doesn't provide active/active access.

Any ideas or suggestions?

...I guess to ask this in another way:

How would you provide redundancy between geographically separated pods while retaining a user's personal data & desktop experience?

Can it be done?
