vcap6 Beta Exams

Does anyone know if the VCAP6 (DCA and DCD) beta exams for the data center virtualization track are available to be signed up for?  Is the beta closed? Not open yet?

Thanks!

Do you need to take both the Deploy and Design exams to receive VCAP6-DCV?

yes, that's how it is.

you got to take VCAP6 Lab Exam (DCA) and VCAP6 Design Exam (DCD) in order to achieve VCIX6-DCV

So If I took only 1 exam? Example below;

VCAP6-DCV Deploy - VMware Certified Advanced Professional 6 – Data Center Virtualization Deployment Beta Exam, Exam Number: 3V0-623

Would this then give me VCAP6-DCV?

pass VCAP6-DCV Design or VCAP6-DCV Deploy will earn you VCAP6-DCV as individual component. Passing both will give you VCIX6-DCV

and yes If you taken Beta exam and pass it, yes you will earn that one compost of VCAP6-DCV.

Note: For results of Beta exams, you will have to wait for Beta program to finish, might be a long wait at times, more on following URL

No - the Deploy exams is for VCAP6-DCV Deploy, the Design exam is for VCAP6-DCV Design, and if you pass both you get VCIX6-DCV.

You dont get an invite for the design exams as they are now public beta here http://blogs.vmware.com/education/2016/02/new-vcap6-beta-exams-now-available.html

The deployment exams seem to have been only for internal VMware personnel

Having met all the requirements to qualify for the vcap6-dcd beta and having my vcap5-dcd, and After going through all the process of requesting authorization and receiving confirmation from VMWare that I can now schedule it, it showed up in my PearsonVUE account 8 hours later as being approved to take.  But when I attempted to schedule it it gave me a message that a voucher was required.  When I emailed certifications@vmware.com they said they will look into it and get back to me within 5-7 business days (don't know if that will be too late)

Or perhaps this means that the DCD beta is also only being allowed for VMware employees and therefore only VMware employees get the voucher?

There was no requirement for a voucher code when I did mine and I dont work for VMware. You normally have to choose your mode of payment so maybe it's set on voucher for some reason

They tell me this requirement has been removed. Please try again this morning and let me know if you're still having trouble.

Yes - as of 10 minutes ago I retried and the voucher requirement had been removed from the registration process on the PearsonVUE website.  I was able to finally register even though I'm not a VMware employee which appears would have been impossible without the help of lilesj - Thanks again!
