Hello,
my company has an old connection server which has some problems, so we decieded to install a new Connection server/Composer (6.2) and move the Pool to the new Server.
But how can i export/import the pool with the persistent disks ?
Or sould i create a new linked pool from the same Golden Image and then import and add the persistens disks manual to the linked clones ?
Thank you very much.
You said the issue is with the connection server, why are you also redoing composer? Or is the intention just to start over with a completely new environment? If it is, is a new vCenter involved too?
I ask because replacing a connection server is pretty straightforward, but a new composer complicates things.
First off all, thanks for your response.
The current environment runs on vmware 5.5. So i want to upgrade the environment to latest version and make the connection server new.
The enviroment is even small and so the Composer and Connection Server was installed on the same Windows Server.
I thought to start with an fresh environment i make both new.
I dont wont to reinstall the vCenter Server.
But i can let the composer on the old Server and just make a new connection server.
But how does this works with the new connection Server and the existing persistent pool ?
1. Install connection Server
2. connect to vcenter/composer
3. ?
But how can i get the pool with the persistent disks to the new connection Server ?
Or should i upgrade the old Server to latest version and install a new Server as replica Server ?
After that can i make the replica Server to an stand alone Server and turn off the old one ?
Thanks for your help.
Hi wolfganghampp,
how did you manage this? did you find a solution to move persistant disks to a new connection server?
