How to use vmdk into Workstation pro 12 to create new guest

Hi,

I have my LAB based upon ESX 5.5 hosts and work well. Now I want few guest to move into other network VMware workstation 12 host. I know how to create new guest using existing VMDK file.

I am not sure how we can export it from ESX 5.5 and use in workstation pro. its give error "The file specified is not a virtual disk" when use vmdK

pleas help me.

hi

you should move these vms using converter or exporting ova ovf via vsphere client.

ESXi VMs are directly compatible with Workstation: Converter or OVF-tool is not necessary
If you get a "file is not a virtual disk" you most likely did not copy the complete directory.
