the destination guest os cannot be reconfigured

Hi

I'm trying to convert a fusion VM running 32bit linux to run on my ESXi 6 server ... the conversion seems to go ok but the converted VM doesn't boot - i'm getting a call stack dump on the OS boot screen, which I can't figure out as I can't scroll up on that to see what blew up.

I did notice however, when I was in the conversion wizard, a warning: 'the destination guest os cannot be reconfigured' which I suspect may have something to do with it.

Any ideas where to go from here?

TIA

Hi

Please could you post additional info like:

- Guest OS and version

- screenshot about stack dump

- a screenshot or description about virtual hardware

In some cases, changing virtual disk controller type could solve boot problem...

screen dump is attached

Q: is there a way to route the OS boot output to a file? Because it scrolls by so fast and once it blows up I can't scroll back up from this stack dump to see what was going on...

the fusion VM is running 32bit CentOS 6.3

disk controller SCSI

Ok,

about controller: which SCSI controller? Buslogin, LSI Logic Parallel, LSI logic SAS, VMware paravirtual... Could you post a screenshot about virtual hardware? Did you resize vmdks?

not sure what you are asking for ... when i go into settings in the fusion VM (before conversion) all I see are 3 options 'SCSI, IDE, SATA) .. I'm set to SCSI

two other very similar VMs converted just fine but this one ... no ....

if I could figure out how to see the linux boot log before it blows up I might be able to figure this out but there is no scroll bar on the VM window....
