Error re-deploying 2008 R2 server

I am trying to re-deploy a RDS server in my environment.  I have deleted the VM from disk, and redeployed using Deploy OVF Template.  Upon boot I get the error ntoskrnl.exe missing or corrupt.  0xc0000221.

I have tried removing and re-adding the datastore in hopes something was cached.  I have tried deploying under a different name and no luck.  Anyone seen this before?  Thanks!

Haven't seen this before however only possibility it points to is corrupt template. Have you also tried deploying from another image.

Hi There,

Have you created the OVF file from working operating system?  Might be OVF file corrupt.

Please restore the VM from backup if backup in place.

Thanks

OVF is not corrupt.  It seems to happen when I re-deploy the VM.  Initially I thought it was a naming issue but that proved to be false.  On a brand new server deployment this OFV will work fine.

Hi,

Check if you have selected correct OS while deploying OVF template.

This is purely OS file issue and can be fixed replacing corrupted  file using OS installation CD. If you are not windows admin check with windows Admin they can fix this issue replacing this corrupted file

Check that disk and partition are correct. If you have recently added a new disk or altered the partitions try changing the disk() and partition() values. If you are sure everything is OK, then the actual file may be corrupt so copy NTOSKRNL.EXE off of the installation CD onto the %systemroot%/system32 directory.

This only fails if I had a virtual machine with the same name on the server before hand.  If I deploy this on a brand new server it never fails.
