The Web based client is fine but here are several examples where the application client is preferred.
1) Screen shots on VM are not possible in the web based version of the console.
2) We have had console sessions on the Web console hang.
3) As a Web server Administrator it is often that we need to clear browser cache and use multiple browsers for troubleshooting. This would affect or usage of a web based UI. Where the application version would not affected. This is very important that we keep this functionally.
4) We use 3rd party add-ons for storage management which makes administrating datastores much much easier.
Here are some of ours I'm sure many of you out there have our own reason for and against the application client.
