Building a Home LAB

Hi All,

By June 2016 I will be able to collect close to $3000 for my home lab. I want to have your suggestions on how I should build it.

I have planned below specs

Intel Xeon Processor 1620 V3

Compatible motherboard for the processor

RAM 128 GB

Cooler Master SMPS and Cooler Master Cabinet

SSD

I would be installing Windows 7 x64 and then run my lab in VMware Workstation

Please let me know your suggestions how you would have spent $3000 for your home lab. My main aim is to get more RAM so that I can do all the praticals.

Thanks

Vaibhav

I suggest to use the machine as a ESXi server and build your LAB on this, then you can connect to the server via another computer.

It's better than to install VMWare Workstation.

Thanks for replying Davoud,
