Sluggish OS X on ESXi 5.5

Hi I have a 12 Core Mac Pro 5,1 running ESXi 5.5 2068190, Dual 2.8GHz 6 Core Xeon, 32GB RAM

I have 3 guest OS's running on it, configured as follows.

OS X 10.10.5 Yosemite

VM Hardware Version 9

CPU - 1 Socket, 6 Cores

12GB RAM

Windows Server 2012 R2 x64

VM Hardware Version 8

CPU - 1 Socket ,4 Cores

12GB RAM

Ubuntu

VM Hardware Version 8

CPU - 1 Socket - 2 Cores

6GB RAM

Out of this configuration the only Guest OS I am having an issue with is OS X, I am finding performance of the OS is quite sluggish, I connect to it via Screen Sharing on a Macbook Pro.

I have installed VMWare tools. However still find the performance lacking, even general navigating the OS X Gui is slow.  In contrast the Windows server VM is working great.

Is there a reason why my OS X guest OS is functioning like this?  Is there anything I can do to improve it?  I also used to run OS X Mavericks Guest OS, and that also had the same issues.

Hi,

Do you have an limits set at memory or CPU for the VM?

How is the overall resource usage for the ESXi?

You know you are running an upsupported confiration? OSX 10.10 is only suypport on ESXi 6 or Fusion 7 & 8:

AppleOS X 10.10.x64
Fusion
8.07.0
ESXi
6.0 U16.0
