Warning of deprecated volumes but all have been upgraded to vmfs5

I just finished upgrading our three hosts from esxi 5.5 to 6. (blades in an IBM Blade S)

I upgraded the four vmfs volumes from 3 to 5 but two of the hosts are giving a warning of: Deprecated VMFS volumesfound on host.

Why is that?

I’m seeing the same issue. This is quite the bug that slipped through into RTM, as well as the first patch. I’m using 6.0.0.2615704 and this bug is still present.

Using 2x Dell R630 hosts and an MD3420 SAS SAN.

Same problem here... have many ESXi hosts and each of the ones upgraded to v6 show this bogus error message.  All of the datastores are VMFS5.  Restarting the services or even rebooting the hosts does not clear the message as claimed by KB 2109735. 

The real workaround for this condition is to mount all datastores and then either restart the services or reboot the host.  This will clear the warning.  However, if ANY of the datastores are subsequently unmounted - regardless of their VMFS version - the warning message reappears.

Still no fix from VMware that I can find.

we are getting this when adding new LUN's and frankly its a nightmare. Wish i could just disable the check

for those still having fun with this, i wrote a plink script to loop round hosts and restart the agents, its incredibly non enterprise and messy but works. I have been told a fix might be due in January. Its been broken since GA!

Updated as far as I can go, still got it.

Oddly, my VDI cluster running the same version of Vcenter and Vsphere doesn't have the problem.  And its using the same storage arrays too.
