Bridge Mode broke after Win10 upgrade / Workstation 12 - tried all fixes in previous posts

Host:  was running Windows 8.1, upgraded to 10 and VMWare Workstation could no longer use bridge mode.

I tried the following but I still can't get Bridge Mode to work.

- in VMware Workstation: Edit -> Virtual Network Editor -> Restore Defaults

- VMware Workstation install/unstall -> Repair

- Uninstall of VMWware Workstation, Re-install.

- Edit NIC of host machine, right click to get properties of Ethernet adapter -> install -> add -> choose service, choose "VMware Bridge Protocol"  (This gives me Access Denied error)

After the uninstall/reinstall looks like Workstation couldn't create new NIC's on the new installation (probably for the same reason I get an Access Denied when I try to edit the NIC and try to add the VMWare Bridge Protocol.

The only fix I haven't tried was the one with the Chinese screenshots here:

Windows 10, Workstation 10, no LAN bridge

(I wanted to get it working with the normal setup)

So, I've reverted my upgrade back to Windows 8.1,

Still wondering if anyone has a fix, in which case I might upgrade again at some point and see if I can get it working. I knew I was going to regret upgrading to Windows 10...
