Need help with migrating virtual Active directory Domain controllers across vcenters(5.5)

Can I use vsphere replication 5.8 for these migrations or standalone v2v conversion is a better and safe approach. (  Powering down the VM and migrating to different datacenter).    Would appreciate if the explanation can be a bit detailed as this is my first time with domain controllers.

Thanks

What about deploy a new domain controller on the new datacenter and then demote the old one ? If the old one is holding some of FSMO, remember to transfer these FSMO to the new DC.

Hi,

the best way is deploy new domain controler in new datacenter and add it into your domain.

After first replica is done, you have to transfer 5 fsmo roles to new domain controler, check dns, sites  and demote old one Smiley Happy

Thanks for the answer. Deploying new DC is the best option.
