VMware Workstation 11.1.2 build-2780323 freezes Linux host running Ubuntu 14.04 intermittantly

Hey all. I am having intermittent problems with both Workstation 11 and Player 7.

The VM, when it's running, runs quite well. I have been working with a Windows 2012 server install and it flies when it's running properly. However, I have had an issue where processor usage seems to double, and then my UI freezes. The mouse still responds, but I can't select or move anything, and am forced to reboot the host.

Things I have tried to get this to stop:

I saw that there was a problem with Workstation 10 and Linux which was fixed by starting workstation and player with the following option:

vblank_mode=0

That does not appear to help me at all. It still freezes intermittently.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I guess I'll add some more information.

root@nope:/var/log/vmware# uname -a

Linux nope 3.19.0-30-generic #33~14.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Tue Sep 22 09:27:00 UTC 2015 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

I ran an lshw and attached as a file.

I have also attached the most recent log.

Any help would be appreciated.

I don't think increasing the virtual machine's RAM amount or CPU count will stop my host from completely locking up, necessitating a reboot. Do you?
