How to enable memory overcommitment in VMware Fusion?

I checked the documentation but found nothing related to overcommiting in Fusion.

I tried enabling it using the properties found in this article, to no avail.

Could anyone point to a specific document I might have overlooked?

Has anyone tried overcommiting using the properties discussed in the article linked above?

I use Fusion 7 Pro (7.1.1) on OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5).

Up for this question! I used to run several VMs as home lab, but without this, can't use my MBP for testing anymore Running VMware Fusion 8 now - still no joy.
