Unable to install VMware Tools.

Hi,

my customer have esx1 and esx2 nodes - vSphere 6.0 and vCenter 6.0 appliance. When i try to install VMware tools on Windows Server vm = error:

vix error code = 21001

Unable to install VMware Tools. An error occurred while trying to access image file "/usr/lib/vmware/isoimages/windows.iso" needed to install VMware Tools: 2 (No such file or directory). If your product shipped with the VMware Tools package, reinstall VMware ESX, then try again to install the VMware Tools package in the virtual machine

When i connect to esx1 via Putty and check "usr/lib/vmware/ - folder "isoimages" missing.

Please, what is quickest solution?

thx from CZ

I think this KB might be useful for you: http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=103740...

Basically you might just need to recreate the symbolic link on the ESXi host.
