Delete dvSwitch

Hi, I'm trying to delete a cluster. But for the network part I have 1 dvSwitch on this cluster. there is no port group.

I am not able to delete the dvSwitch I receive this message

vDS dvSwitch port c-3117 is connected to entity <not-found.> Virtual NIC vmk1, type:hostVmkVnic

I also find a port in the ports list the port is

Port-ID:c-3117

Runtime MAC: XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX

State Link up

VLAN Access:0

This is the only port in my list, There is no host and no VM in this cluster anymore.

Thank you

It seems there is still an associated uplink in the active links.

You may need to recheck porperties of the port or teaming if configured ?

There is still 6 remaining uplink, I try to remove them but I got this error

Uplink name dvUplink0 is in use by the teaming policy defined at dvs

But I don't where to change the teaming policies

You may refer to the url below :

http://pubs.vmware.com/vsphere-50/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.vmware.vsphere.networking.doc_50%2FGUID-BB8...

Go to porperties of the port and then the teaming part, then move this down to unused and try removing the dvswitch.

Re-create the old name port name once again under the dvSwitch then umap all the esxi uplinks which is connected and try and delete it.

It is not working

I notice the port is c-3117

It states that, the port has been conflicted "C-1377"  " C" repesents it, but in this case, u don't have any of the VMs mapped to it by chance. And more over u do not have the uplinks connected to any of the host. Correct? , Map the physical NICs to the current locak switches, which u have provided the uplinks for dvSwitch.

Hi,

May be a stale entry in the database, try the below

The dv switch has its entries association with vcenter , try clearing up the stale entries and give it a try
