Session time out.

Dear all,

We are using vmware view 6 and we meet a problem.

what we want is all desktop connections stay all the time. but now my staff can only connect for at most 600 minutes, after that, they would be forcibly disconnected.

My current setting in view management global setting is  "Forcibly disconnect users:  after, 600 minutes". i tried to set it to "NEVER" but based on help document, if i do this, all desktop will be disconnect after maximum 600 minutes.

How can i make sure all desktop connections can always stay until my staff manually disconnect them??

You can set it to 'never' and the connections should stay up - the catch is that you will require client versions that support the feature, which was introduced at the same time as support for app sessions. The latest Horizon software clients all support this, zero/thin clients may need to be updated and you should check with the client vendor.

Thanks Mpryor,

Does Vmware Horizen client 3.0 support this feature?

Hi

I was doing testing and reduced the time to 20 minutes however it did not disconnect me though I have the VMware horizon view client version 3.3 ?

Can you explain what does this setting does actually, does it disconnects and logs off Windows session as well.

Its the global setting so I believe it should override the setting in the pool ?

whats the recommendation of using this setting.
