MS Exchange content pack issues

I've installed the Microsoft Exchange content pack in Log Insight 2.5.  We have Exchange 2012 and I've installed the Log Insight windows agent onto the Exchange servers.  Additionally I added the entries described in the content pack instructions to the liagent.ini.  I then attempted to setup the jobs in Task Scheduler which should run the powershell scripts that would collect the data for the Log Insight agent to pick up.  The problem I'm seeing is that some of these powershell scripts aren't collecting data, specifically the exchange_perfmon_counters.log.  It doesn't seem to retrieve any data.  The other scripts seem to collect data but I'm questioning if it's collecting all the data that it should.  Additionally, when I look at the dashboard several of the sections are completely empty (no results) - Transport, Client Access & Unified Messaging, Performance Counters, and SMTP.  Is anybody successfully using this content pack?

Hello rgcda,

Thanks for reporting the issue , this was reported by one other person and on investigation we found that some of the scripts on solution exchange were either old or somehow corrupted. I have updated the content pack and scripts (version 3.0) on solution exchange . Please download the latest set and execute the scripts in this set. Let me know if you still run into issues. Sorry for your trouble. The link to the latest content pack + scripts on solution exchange is - Cloud Management Marketplace | Solution Exchange

Thanks.

Hey, you seem to be the person to talk to about getting the Exchange content pack set up and working. Currently I've been trying to get this set up with LI 3.0 and Exchange 2013 I have about 1/3rd of the dashboards populating information right now. Would it be possible to do a session to review my set up? I'm trying to build a script to automate this but I need to know the desired state before I can automate setting it up :smileysilly:

Sure if you can send me the email id, I will setup a weber and we can go over your setup, if you like. Alternatively you can setup a meeting and invite me to it too, my email id is yogitap@vmware.com.

Hello rgcda and Marcus,

We have found a problem with the agent config in the exchange content pack. The issue has been fixed and the content pack on solution exchange has been updated you can find it here - https://solutionexchange.vmware.com/admin/products/129088 . Please allow for 12 hours for solution update to pick up the updates and you can download using the Try button on solution exchange. You will need to upgrade the content pack an re-apply the agent config from the agent group to pick up the config changes.

Let me know if you still run into issues.

Thanks.

Hello,

Were you able to fix your issues after updating your content pack from Solution Exchange? If yes can you mark this as answered? If not then please let me know how I can be of more assistance.

Thanks.

We are having a similar issue where we installed the Exchange 2010 content pack, did a clean install about a week ago and we're getting a small amount of data but most of the dashboards aren't populating.  Didn't know if you would be able to help or know of any bugs why data shouldn't be flowing.  I believe we have configured all the jobs to run correctly and permissions assigne correctly.

Yes both rgcda and Marcus were able to resolve their issues. The admin audit log required the condition in the last if stmt of the script to be changed from 'gt' to 'ge', since the log file was not getting generated. Also to enable SMTP they needed to follow the instructions here - https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn292550.aspx ( also mentioned in the tech specs). If you'd send me an email id I can schedule a webex and take a look at your environment if you like. Thanks.

I'm experiencing some of these issues with VM insight 4.0 and the Exchange content pack for Exchange 2013. Are you still available to help troubleshoot issues like this?

Hello,

What kind of issues are you experiencing? I can help. I am working from India till first week of jan, so we can do an early morning US webex meeting if that works for you too. or in second week of Jan I will be in PST time zone if that works better.

Thanks.
