Hi Again All,
Having real trouble getting the v6 client integration plugin installed on a windows 8.1 machine.
Have tried ie11 chrome and firefox but I cant get any of these to add the plugin using any of the methods I have found on any forums or in vmware docs.
Does anybody know how to do this please?
Thanks Again,
Sean
Can you please share the error message details you are getting ? Probably following article might help you resolve the issue.
VMware Client Integration Plugin 6.0 install failed - solution

Hi akodenkiri,
That's the whole problem there are no error messages, the article you mention is a completely different issue.
The install of the plugin works fine, completes no errors but when I view the add-ons for either ie or chrome or firefox the integration plugin isnt there.
Every time I launch vsphere the link at the bottom to download the plugin is still active.
The plugin is installed, it shows up in add remove programs.
Ive seen something about vsphere not liking 64 bit chrome or ie11 but im using 64bit windows 8.1.
I had hoped that Firefox would be answer but the problem is the same.

Theres just been a development, having uninstalled chrome and reinstalled, it is open after the install and I notice that when you click on the customise icon top right that there is an option to "relaunch chrome in windows 8 mode"!!
So thought I would try and go to the vsphere web client and.... it works, the plugin is active.
So all i need to do now is to find out how to continually launch chrome NOT in windows 8 mode.
I have the same issue. Spent 2 days trying to solve it. No error messages at all and I just can't get the IE11, Chome44, or FF40 to show the plugin.
I did find a solution though. It didn't help for my issue but maybe it could help some of you:

My solution at the moment is to run the webclient on my Mac (where it works perfectly), but hopefully someone finds out how to solve this.
Hi.
1. uninstall clien integration plugin from your pc
2. restart your pc
3. install client integration plugin - as administrator mode
4. try it, in my experience is best browser - firefox
Agreed plug-in installation must be with Administrative mode, you can use Chrome also.

Hi
I have tried this now on several windows 8.1 and win7 machines, same result with all. Had version 5.0 installed and uninstalled it on all machines before I tested. Does it make any diffrence? Should not.
Followed your advice and tried it once again. Uninstall -> Reboot. Install as Admin -> Reboot. No diffrence since package/plugin dosn't show up in IE11, Chome44, or FF40.
Version of my package when installed shows: 6.0.0.2799
Is there diffrent versions of the 6.0.0 ?
There must be some more dependences that I'm not aware of.
I can't get any browser for a Mac to work. What is your working Mac configuration?
