One of the hosts in our cluster is to have the motherboard replace on Monday. The fault is with the idrac so the host is still more or less working and is still in production until then
I am concerned that the integrated network interfaces on the mb are used for VSA and HA clustering will be changing. Do I need to do any preparatory work in regard to this, or any post-swap config before returning the system back to production after the swap-out?
We have VSA 5.1 running on Esxi 5.5
VMware got back to me to advise that as long as the warranty replacement is a board of the same spec then there will be no problem, and no post swap-out config needed.
Board arrived yesterday and all worked beautifully after the swap. Only thing I had to do was to connect the ports as I had set up previously.
