measurement plugin name=Oracle 11g not found

Hello all,
I'm trying to configured in Hyperic HQ an Oracle 11g server running on Windows. I keep
getting the following error:

measurement plugin name=Oracle 11g not found

Anybody run in to this issue? Thanks.

Hi,

whats your HQ Server and Agent version ? If you check in the Agent directory on the Windows box where your Oracle DB runs, can you find a file called oracle-plugin.jar ?

I think the error usually means that the plugin can not be found on the Agent side. You might also have a look at the agent logfile if it contains any related errors.

Cheers,

Hi, my server and agent version is 4.5. The agent and server both have the oracle-plugin.jar
but the agent log has the following entry:
Cannot load oracle-plugin.jar: Bad version number in .class file

I tried changing the jar file and stopping/starting the agent but it still can't load the jar file. I also did a complete reinstall and still nothing. Could it be that 4.5 doesn't support Oracle 11g?

Are you using an Agent and server with a bundled JRE or any custom JRE ?

Please check this page for Agent JRE requirements
http://support.hyperic.com/display/EVO/Installation+Requirements#InstallationRequirements-AgentJRERe...

Your Agent might have been started up using a different (old) JRE that is installed on your system. I think Windows comes with an old 1.4.2 version.

I used the Server/Agent with a bundled JRE. I'll try the no-JRE version to see if it works. Thanks.

Hi,

Do you run agent with user that is a part of Oracle DBA group (have permission for connection to Oracle) ?
