Installed the plugin in vRops, getting this error "unable to establish a vaild connection to the target system. Exception originated from the Hyperic. Incorrect user name or password. Verify that the user name and password you entered are correct", no firewall between this to servers, the hyperic server is Windows 2008R2 with hyperic server and agents installed.
Hi,
Follow by exception vROPs cannot connect to hyperic server. Please check that port 7443 is opened and credentials are correct.
Are you able to login into the Hyperic server with the credentials that you are using on the plugin?
Also, is this error popping up when you test the connection or on the logs? Please take a look at the logs to see if there is a detailed error report.
Hi, the firewall is open from the vRops server which is Windows 2008R2 same as the hyperic server, I am trying this from the vRops server,
From the vRops server, I can log in https://ldnpinfvhs01:7433 user name hqadmin, where will I find this error in the logs.
Go to vROPs machine and run - ping with DNS name of hyperic.
Hi, I can ping with the DNS name of the hyperic server from vRops server
I'll suggest to create a new credential instance in vrops while creating hyperic adapter instance.
Hi, tried same error again.
Create a new hyperic user and try with it.
created new local user, given super role, can log in with this user to the hyperic server and the website but still the same error, Exception originated from Hyperic. Incorrect user name or password from the vROPS server, are the logs kept in this location, what error should I see in the log file, D:\Hyperic_Server\server-5.8.4-EE\logs
Installed the whole appliance, created a local user still the same error, any ideas, I can log unto the website with this user and can ping the server from vROPs server.
Hi, managed to fix this problem, please see below the fix, make sure when you add the vROps Remote Collector URL, give the whole URL https://ldnpinfvom01/vcops-web-ent, if you just give this only https://ldnpinfvom01, you will always get the same error as I got.
