After the release of the VCDX6-DCV certification which i'd expect around the same time as the VCIX-DCV release, what will be the time scale on defending a VCDX5 design?
Would it be right to assume that the October VCDX5 defences will be the last availble oppertunity or will a VCDX5 defence be availble next year for those people who have yet to transistion their VCAPs to VCIX6?
Yet to be determined. Sufficient notice will be provided on the final VCDX5 defense dates and we have not provided that notice yet.
Is there any update on the defenses in 2015?
Is the one in UK going to take place? Will there be a one in VMworld Barcelona?
Hi VCDX team,
Is there any guidance on when VCDX6 will be released? And how much longer VCDX5 will be accepted?
I am currently doing a re-design of my internal infrastructure to v6 which I plan to use as a defense.
Thanks,
Kelvin
Hi Kelvin,
You may use a vSphere 6 design for your VCDX, even if the current version is still VCDX5. So you are good by updating it to the v6. However, note that you will still earn the VCDX5 if that is the version you defend under, although it's a simple upgrade to get to the new version (no re-defense required.)
Although I don't have a specific date for the VCDX6 release yet, it will be dependent on the prerequisite VCIX6 releases, which are targeted for Q1.
Thanks,
Karl
