I have an old (real old) application that runs under Windows 2000. I had been running it satisfactorily under Fusion 4.1.3, then didn't need it, and now I need it again 😞
I understand that Fusion 7 is an upgrade too far and I will have to do a new install. My question is: will the files that were stored on the virtual machine come over automatically or is there something special I will have to do to import them? Are there any other issues I should be aware of?
Hi,
Welcome at the VMware communities forum.
Basically it should "just come over"
However good practice is to have your VM shut down before running the upgrade.
Also sensible is to make a good copy of your VM before experimenting with it.
Oh.. and use Fusion 7.1.1 and not Fusion 7.1.2 as it has a vmware tools problem with OS's earlier as Windows XP SP3 (which hopefully will be fixed again in Fusion 7.1.3)

How do I get 7.1.1? All the download pages seem to want to give me 7.1.2.
Hi,
If you select to download 7.1.2 there's a drop down box where you can change the 7.1.2 to 7.1.1 (or earlier)
Here's a direct link: Download Fusion 7.1.1

If anybody else has the same/similar question, upgrade was painless. VM restarted just like it was on the old version.
