"Sparse Disk" is not supported in ESXi.
So the disks that i am creating in workstation are actually called sparse disks ?
2gbsparse – A sparse disk with 2GB maximum extent size. You can use disks in this format with other VMware products, however, you cannot power on sparse disk on a ESX host till you reimport the disk with vmkfstools in a compatible format, such as thick or thin.
This is the first time i am playing on ESXI (using version 6.0 and vsphere desktop client). I have used vmware workstation (currently using version 10) and when we configure storage, we can tell the vm to give total size of 40GB but in 2 GB increments. While configuring VM in ESXI, i do get thin provision option but i dont see any option to set this increment value ?
I know usually it doesnt matter but for curiosity, can we set this increment value ?
