Hi,
as part of the vSphere 6 release I could read a lot about Instant Clone (aka Project Fargo).
I'm still looking for an Instant Clone option in vSphere / vCenter (see this post Re: Instant Clone - A stupid question
Since VDI with Horizon is being mentioned as one of the use cases for this feature, I was wondering if maybe I can "instantly clone" VMs by means of Horizon 6.1.
I've installed the new release in my lab (on top of vSphere 6 of course), but I'm still unable to see any option to use this new functionality.
Could someone PLEASE point me to a "How To" guide or a video or something similar to get me going with this?
Thanks a lot!
When it comes it will be a feature of vSphere not of Horizon view, you won't find it in the latest release unfortunately.
Oh, ok. Looks like the vSphere 6 What's New Guide (http://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/vsphere/VMware-vSphere-Whats-New.pdf) contains some wishful thinking then... 🙂
Thanks for the answer anyway.
Hi,,
Instant clone feature only available with help of private API's and not an embedded feature.
Thanks
