IBM ESXi vs VMware ESXi?

Hello,

Sorry for a dumb question, what is an added value of installing ESXi released by IBM instead of VMware one? Is it tested more thoroughly or there is a difference in drivers?

Many thanks.

Usually the (vendor) customized versions of ESXI install image contain additional drivers and management addons for their servers. Those drivers are called partner supported and are not included in the genuine VMWare releases.

The customized images by vendor are best to support for there hardwares and full functionality. As everytime Vendor introduces new features and limits with new hardware for which drivers are not easily available in the vmware release.

Every vendor provide there own customize image of esxi for better virtualization experience.

Customized image contain the driver specif to the hardware.

But this usually take time to release as compared to vmware.Since the image is customized by the same standard profile which is been perfectly tested by vmware.
