Hi everyone,
I am trying to upgrade VSPHERE 6.0 VCENTER SERVER APPLIANCE: UPGRADING FROM 5.X (in my case5.1 U3) as in the guideline below: http://anthonyspiteri.net/vsphere-6-0-vcenter-server-appliance-upgrading-from-5-x/
Unfortunately, the upgrade is frozen at 3. Set up virtual machine "Validating. This might take several minutes". After 12-24h of leaving it at Validating, the process is not moving forward:

Can someone give me a suggestion/solution?
I'm trying anything and everything.
Thanks.
Radu
I'm also having the same problem trying to upgrade from 5.1 to 6. Any suggestion would be appreciated, thanks!
Same problem here, have you found a solution yet?
Somebody found a solution?
When you guys hit this, what is your SSO configuration? Was it the first / only VC in your environment, or was it one that was using an external SSO that was already upgraded?
I know this is years late, but I came across this post because we ran into the same issue and we found a solution that I wanted to share. The problem (at least in our case) was that there were no DNS records set up for the VCenter appliance on our network; adding a DNS record in our domain controller for the appliance that matched the hostname listed in the Networking section of the VCenter management interface and then restarting the VSCA upgrade process using the hostname rather than the IP address cleared the problem.
