Nest ESX VM on ESXi5.5

Hi All,

I have installed ESX 4.0 on VM which on ESXi5.5 and managed by vcenter which is on version 5.5. But i am not able to configure the network settings on nested VM. can you please guide to configure on ESX4.0

Have you created a vSwitch on ESX 5.5 and set Promiscuous Mode to "Accept"?

Then add a virtual Network Adapter of ESX 4 VM (Edit Settings) to this vSwitch and a NIC should be detected by the ESX 4 VM (after reboot).

You don't have to add a physical NIC to this vSwitch.

I haven't created yet but Will do.Just let me  know if vswitch needs to be intact any physical.If not then how would the vm will be come in network.

Hi Fritz,

I did the same as instructed by you. But still i am unable to reach the gateway. Where as i deployed a nested VM with ESXi5.5, the network configuration works fine.

Please advise.
