license OS in VMware

hi

I have downloaded and start using VMware workstation as a 30 days trial.  In this process, i start looking into license of windows 7 pro.  I can install and use a windows 7 pro as 30 days trial and expire in 30 days.  I am planning to buy a license for windows 7 pro and type it in so i can have a valid windows 7 pro.  Can i get one from Bestbuy or any computer store?  Will this works.  I just don't want to pay for a license and then enter it and found Microsoft tell me it is not a valid license.  Is there any differences between license in VM and a regular physical PC (like my host PC).

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

thx, Ted.

welcome to the community - yes it does not matter where you get the license - Best Buy or CDW should be fine

Hello, Best Buy and CDW no longer sell Windows 7 licenses.  I tried CheaperCodes, but that did not work.  Where can I get a Windows 7 licenses for my virtual machine(s).  I'm running Workstation Pro 14 on Windows 10 Pro.

Unfortunately, that is a question for Microsoft - they are the owner/licenser of Windows 7 Operating System.
