ISO for latest Converter 4.1 - Does it exist?

I am trying to convert an old Windows 2000 Server using the latest converter client and it is going dog slow. Is there an ISO for the latest version of converter? I'd much rather do it clean than inside the OS...

Thanks in advance!

>converter-helper-vm.iso

That's used during a linux hot clone, as it boots the vSphere VM off of it to copy data.

dborgill,

You need to have a vCenter 2.5/4.0 License on your account to download these.

For cold cloning with the Converter Boot CD, the source physical machine must have at least 264 MB of memory. VMware recommends 364 MB of memory. The Converter Boot CD ISO is available from:

VI3 Customers: http://downloads.vmware.com/download/download.do?downloadGroup=VC250U6

vSphere Customers: http://downloads.vmware.com/download/download.do?downloadGroup=VC40U1

Login with a username that is associated with the VMware vCenter Server license

Accept the EULA

Download the "VMware vCenter Converter BootCD for vCenter Server" ZIP File

Once the download has completed, write the ISO to a disc and then boot the system from the disc itself.

Hello.

If you are licensed for vCenter, then this link should be what you are looking for.

Good Luck!

I logged in with our corporate account that has all mentioned licenses. Why is it not under the Converter section of the downloads?

I got it using the links you provided.. just curious why so hard to find? Smiley Happy

Converter "Enterprise" is sold as part of vCenter (hence there is the plugin too). The standalone is completely free, but doesn't offer a CD.

Hello,

According this link, The Cold Cloning (Which is using Boot CD in this Mode) is Only Available for "VMware vCenter Converter Integrated (vCenter Server Plug-in).

So I think You have to use this Version or some 3rd party Apps.

Strange... what is the converter-helper-vm.iso (and x64) that gets installed to the "free" version's directory?

4.1 is the latest.

Since it's just a winpe adk type of disc, I might be able to get 5.5 converter working. If I can do this, I will post instructions on creating one.

Update on my last post: I was not able to get the newer standalone windows convertor working by copying it over the files on the last bootable iso.
