pbraren Apr 23, 2015 1:29 PM (in response to justingoldberg)Happy to say it still works just great! I had put some comments confirming it still works at the beginning of the existing article:
TinkerTry.com/rufus-takes-2-minutes-to-create-a-bootable-usb-flash-drive-for-esxi-installation
and am working on new article along with video of the the entire build your own vSphere 6.0 lab, complete with full ESXi and vSphere hostnames (not IPs).

edegrave Mar 10, 2016 9:41 AM (in response to pbraren)Worked fine on ESXi 6 for me, with the exception that I'm using a HP custom image and at boot the loader stated: 'menu.c32: not a com32r image'. Rufus did mention an older file being used (didn't write it down, sorry) but fix was easy: just press TAB when the error shows and select install. Sweet as ever!
Replacing the file mentioned by Rufus is probably the clean way to boot without any problems at all...

mackpt1 Feb 28, 2018 5:50 AM (in response to Ben Liebowitz)Here is how to make bootable USB for windows 7/8/10 with Rufus
1- Download Rufus over here https://rufus.akeo.ie/downloads/rufus-2.7.exe
2- Once its downloaded, double click to open it.
3- Then, insert your pen drive.
4- Next step is to select the ISO file.
5- Once you selected the ISO, now its time to choose what kind of partition scheme and target system type you want to make. In rufus we have the possibility to make three kinds. They are
:- MBR partition with BIOS or UEFI
:- MBR partition for UEFI
:- GPT partition for UEFI
