Problem with vxlan after reinstalling vCloud Networking and Security

Hi,

After reinstalling vCloud Networking and Security

In the Vshield manager ->Networks Virtualization->Connectivity-> I am getting the error:

Error retrieving DVS forwarding class for switch dvs-111

Also in the VCD window->Network pool->My VXLAN pool as well giving the below error:

The operation encountered an unspecified error.

- VSM response error (202): The requested object : dvs-111 could not be found. Object identifiers are case sensitive.

Any of you faced this issue? is there a way to cleanup this or resolve this error?

Hi,

     When you say "After reinstalling vCloud Networking and Security".Can you summarize how you performed re-installation of VCNS and the reason behind that ? That would help me to comment if we have a bigger problem in a worst case.

I re-installed vCloud Networking and Security because in the previous installation i always get an error after deploying vShield Data Security and i did it using the "Uninstall" button then the "install" button after removing all the components.

Hi,

    Thanks for the update.Uninstall button is only of VCNS features(Vshield edge,Data Security,VXLAN,Endpoint&APP) not for the software.So i believe you are referring to one of those features?

Hi,

Yes i am referring to those features actually i did the uninstall fo all those features then i re-installed them again.

Uninstalling all the features just because you had error for VShield data security was not a great step. If you are using VXLAN network pools in vCloud Director, logical networks are broken now for sure and most likely network creation will fail in that case. My recommendation would be to contact VMware Support Team to have a thorough check-up in your environment and fix the things accordingly.There will be few stale entries for sure and some of them require manual clean up in host/vcd/vcns.
