Needing to move my main SQL database on VirtualCenter 2.x

Could not find a forum for Virtualcenter 2.x only for 1.x.

I cant find much in the way of documentation on how to accomplish this but it would seem like the only thing I need to do is shut down the vcenter and copy the db to another SQL server.

Make sure same logins are in place and just change the db server host name in System DSN?

There's gotta be more to this. Licenses lost? Will it pick up the hosts and guest and no rebuild of DB needed.

The entire system lives on a handful of blades and this DB move it the last thing to be done before the entire system is put to retirement.

Take a look here: VMware KB: Moving the VMware vCenter Server 4.x/5.x/6.0.x SQL database

The KB title talks about version 4/5/6, but inside the KB article, on the right panel you can see that apply to version 2 too.

I saw this but didn't see a reference to older than 4.x.

And as I read it if I don't care about the stats or have any rollup jobs the system DSN is my only place where I make a change after all services are shut down.
